Job Description

An oncology pharmacist is a health-system level pharmacist that works to provide optimal, safe, and evidence-based medication therapy to patients of all ages, backgrounds, and needs in the oncology service line. These pharmacists provide consultative and direct patient care services that include but are not limited to assessing patient needs, incorporate age and disease specific characteristics into drug therapy and patient/family education, supervise the operational activities of oncology pharmacy services being provided, and provide clinical interventions to ensure quality patient outcomes relating to medication use. Oncology pharmacists also work with pharmacy leadership on a variety of topics such as precepting, training, education, guideline development, research, and quality initiatives.

• Current Pharmacist licensure in good standing in the State of Ohio.

• Graduated from an accredited School of Pharmacy.

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree or Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent.

• Three (3) years of relevant pharmacy experience as a pharmacist of completion of ASHP accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency is required.

• Board of Pharmacy Specialists board certification in applicable clinical specialty is required; or must achieve board certification within 18 months of eligibility.
