CACI is looking for an experienced Project Leader of Flight Software Development to provide NASA Johnson Space Center with leadership skills in the management of a portfolio of flight software development projects. This senior engineering leadership position reports to the Program Manager and involves managing multiple flight software development teams; ensuring exceptional technical performance and customer satisfaction; and supporting project staffing, funding, schedules, and status reporting. This position requires a self-motivated, capable lead software development engineer with strong verbal and written communication skills. In addition to outstanding technical expertise, the individual must be very people savvy, have leadership experience and strong customer relationship skills, possess a positive team-player attitude, be flexible and willing to take on new assignments and responsibilities as they arise, and be an articulate speaker able to communicate complex technical ideas in a convincing manner. The individual must share our passion for our Nation's Space Program and share in the excitement of developing the next human-rated space vehicles. Responsibilities include leading a portfolio of 12+ flight software development teams comprised of 80+ engineers, ensuring exceptional technical support and deliverables, working with customers and team leads to develop/revise project task orders and scope funding, authoring technical progress reports, managing contract deliverables, ensuring adherence to project schedules, leading recruiting efforts, and mentoring new team leads and junior engineers. Qualifications required include U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency, B.S. in relevant engineering or computer science disciplines, minimum 15 years software lifecycle experience including 3-5 years technical leadership, 5 years safety-critical software development experience, proficiency in C, C++, C#, servant leadership model, project management, recruiting, personnel assignments, team development, software unit testing, and strong communication skills. Desired qualifications include M.S. degree, PMP certification, experience with human-rated space vehicles, strong programming skills in C, C++, Python, Linux environment, real-time operating systems, embedded firmware, device drivers, NASA Core Flight Software, Time-Triggered Ethernet, various bus communication protocols, software and systems integration, automated and verification testing, GitLab, Jira, Agile development, and CMMI Level 3 or above process familiarity.
