Under the close supervision of the Accounting Administrator I (Supervisor) of the Federal Report Team B, the Student Assistant (SA) will assist with research and analysis of data associated with fiscal operations; provide support to fulfill the accounting business needs; effectively communicate progress of assigned task while working in a team environment; key in the claim schedules; post all Cash Receipt (CR) postings; and assist in creating reports using FI$Cal to support management. The SA will also act as a liaison between unit staff and management.
The student assistant will use various software applications such as Microsoft Office products, Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc. to perform assigned tasks. The SA will abide by office policies, rules, regulations, and procedures; makes arithmetic computations; takes notes during accounting meetings; and will follow routine oral and written direction.
This non-tenured intermittent position will be limited to working up to 1,500 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.

Telework Information
This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework permitted is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change, consistent with CDPH’s Telework Program. All employees who telework are required to be California residents in accordance with Government Code 14200. Candidates who reside outside of the state of California may be interviewed; however, the selected candidate must have a primary residency in the state of California prior to appointment (and continue to maintain California residency) as a condition of employment. Failure to meet this requirement may result in the job offer being rescinded.
Travel may be required for this position. Reimbursement for travel takes into consideration an employee’s designated headquarters, as reflected in the duty statement, and is subject to regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the designated headquarters office will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
