Salary : $3,928.88 - $4,695.38 Monthly Location : Depending on Assignment, CA Job Type: Shift - Full Time Job Number: 9235 Department: SHERIFF Opening Date: 12/18/2023 Closing Date: Continuous Position Information Amended: 7/30/24 This is a continuous recruitment and may close at any time without notice. Shift information : 5% additional pay for evening shift work; 7.5% additional pay for night shift work. Applicants must be able and willing to work any shift of a 24-hour period and any 5 of 7 days. Examinations: Written Exam (Weight 100%) May include knowledge of the principles and practices of records management; policies and procedures associated with the preparation, utilization, distribution, retention, retrieval and release of police reports, arrest records or a variety of other records and reports; computer operating systems and software related to processing and maintaining records; basic supervision and training principles and other relevant subjects . The Human Resources Division may solely conduct an appraisal of application materials should there be an insufficient number of candidates to warrant a performance examination. Should a performance examination be necessary, the performance examination will be weighted at 100%. Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the exam process. Minimum Qualifications/ Employment Standards: High School Diploma, G.E.D or equivalent. Three years of clerical experience including one year of experience as a Sheriff's Records Specialist OR other law enforcement agency records personnel, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to obtain the knowledge and skill to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Certification of Typing/Keyboarding speed of 50 net words per minute Possession of a Valid California Driver's License is required upon appointment for some positions. Applicants MUST submit a copy of their typing or keyboard certificate, issued within the last two years, verifying a speed of 50 net words per minute and attach it with their completed application.
