Job Description

The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for the overall profit and loss (EBITDA) of the business segment.

The primary responsibilities of the Product Manager is to:

Manage the Product Line Team

· Monitor business results. Initiates and updates actions to achieve or exceed annual EBITDA targets in the AOP.

· Ensures products sales records are analyzed and performance is evaluated against sales targets. Supports and is committed to Lean Six Sigma improvement process.

· Works with production to ensure product availability meets customer needs.

· Coordination, support, and participation in the Stage Gate process and the situational analysis system.

Deliver Profitable growth

· Responsible for delivering overall EBITDA for assigned product line platforms.

· Expand profit margins through effective pricing strategies and cost controls

· Manages and reviews the product pricing process including approving price deviations, discontinues unprofitable products, and implements price increases

· Monitors product gross margins and profitability against control standards.

· Takes customer and market trends, feedback, and opportunities to create technology focus.

· Drives measurement and tracking activities including market size, market share, and ROI.

· Oversees the product management function to set/negotiate goals and budgets, develop pricing strategies to achieve in-market category positions; sets parameters around category investment mix.

· Creates value proposition for the products and industry, focusing on the customer and ensuring product quality and consistency.

Manage and optimize the current product offering

· Develop and implement a product line strategy to support strategic plan

· Oversee new product launches.

· Ensures that product introductions support the specialization strategy and meet the launch requirements of the Stage Gate process.

· Establish clear measurement and management of product profitability, and proactive management of product mix.

· Directs or monitors a supporting staff in the management of existing product groups, new product development and programs.

· Generates and monitors effectiveness of sales campaigns, advertising programs and technical literature.

· Develops or reviews product forecasts for management approval.

· Supervise or monitor the development of technical literature, advertising campaigns, definitions, specification, and performance standards.

· Work closely with Environmental Health & Safety to ensure products meet local, state, and federal/country regulations.

· Direct or oversee the development and introduction of new products with sales, research, manufacturing, and distribution.

· Develop, review and coordinate product promotion, technical presentations, and advertising through marketing staff and Marketing Communications.

· Ensure customer and sales personnel receive continuous technical support in the form of up-to-date product application technology, training, and problem solving.

· Develop contacts with major customers and suppliers.

· Conduct executive marketing / sales calls to maintain customer contact, promotes sales efforts, evaluates market trends, and develop business at target accounts.

· Coordinates and attends various trade/organization functions to develop business contacts and gather market information.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree essential. MBA highly desirable.
  • 7-10+ years’ experience in Product, Brand, or Marketing Management in a B2B industrial products industry.
  • Experience in sales/marketing/management of polymers or related materials referred
  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience
