As a Building Control Systems Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of our most vital projects—designing, configuring, and bringing to life the intelligent systems that keep buildings running safely and efficiently. Design with Purpose: Own the end-to-end design and configuration of cutting-edge building control systems—including fire protection, security, lighting, nurse call, data networks, and more. Innovate Fearlessly: Develop advanced software logic and customized programming to ensure every system performs seamlessly and intuitively. Deliver with Impact: Collaborate closely with field teams, ensuring every detail is accurate, timely, and installation-ready to meet and exceed project goals. Lead with Clarity: Craft precise documentation and submittals that clearly communicate your design vision to consultants, clients, installers and subcontractors. Engineer the Experience: Commission, troubleshoot, and fine-tune systems to deliver peak performance—ensuring safety, comfort, and operational excellence. As a Systems Engineer, you’ll be the architect behind technically advanced building control systems. Your role will include: Engineering Expertise: Design and configure complex control systems based on contract specifications. Create flow diagrams, sequences of operations, bills of material, network layouts, and electrical schematics. Custom Software Development: Write and test intelligent software programs that bring the building automation systems to life. Integrated Design: Produce detailed drawings, submittals, and equipment schedules to guide smooth installation. Materials Management: Select, procure, and track the delivery of all necessary materials to keep projects moving on schedule. Factory Collaboration: Coordinate with factories on component mounting and delivery to align with timelines. System Commissioning: Load and commission system controllers at both system and network levels. Troubleshooting & Validation: Ensure full functionality by resolving issues in collaboration with subcontractors and field teams. Project Documentation: Support creation of “as-built” documentation and relay real-time changes during construction. Client Engagement: Keep project stakeholders informed and assist in training operators on their custom systems. Value Engineering: Deliver efficient, cost-effective solutions without compromising quality. Mentorship: May guide and support junior Systems Design Assistants. Safety First: Uphold the highest safety standards—for yourself and everyone on the jobsite. Travel Ready: Be prepared to travel as needed to support your project teams. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in engineering and minimum 3 years' experience, knowledge of the construction or HVAC industry, control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, experience with JCI software programming, integration of low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols (LON, BACnet, etc.), ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience, advanced computer skills especially drafting tools, and ability to travel regularly.
