Airbus Mobile Manufacturing Site (MMS) is looking for a Flightline Avionics Technician to join our final phase team in Mobile, AL. The team at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facilities help assemble the finest aircraft in the world, along two (soon to be three) production lines for the A220 and A320 Family aircraft. The Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft is located at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley, opened in 2015, producing A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry and is part of Airbus’ strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond. The position is responsible for performing Functional Test Procedure (FTP), Pre & Post Flight inspection, preparing built aircraft for test flight and delivery readiness. This includes operating, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and inspecting aircraft systems using approved aircraft data. The role requires proficiency in operating and understanding a wide variety of test equipment and tooling, interpreting technical manuals, drawings and engineering data to support tasks, completing assigned tasks within the allocated man hour budget and meeting safety, quality, and cost guidelines. Primary responsibilities include performing aircraft system Final Test Procedure Test (FTP), Pre/Post flight checklists, Daily Inspection (DI), troubleshooting aircraft systems, supporting Flight line operations, repairing and maintaining aircraft components and systems, servicing and preparing documentation according to company procedures, performing post dock maintenance daily checklists, safety and security inspections, and participating in system troubleshooting skill development. Prior experience with Refuel/Defuel, Aircraft Jack and Tow, hydraulic and engine oil servicing, tire/strut servicing, and handling hazardous materials is required. Knowledge and skills include basic electrical/mechanical theory, use of aircraft unique tools and test equipment, aircraft sealing techniques, reading and interpreting aircraft diagrams and maintenance procedures, process improvement participation, ability to work in confined spaces, heights, and outdoor conditions, and supporting and training other technicians. The role requires maintaining close working relationships with leads regarding schedules, priorities, parts availability, and special instructions. Equipment operation includes cranes, cherry-pickers, forklifts, lifting and loading platforms. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety equipment use is essential. The candidate must be able to work under stressful conditions and assist with other duties as assigned. Qualifications include a minimum of 3 years aviation experience preferably in manufacturing or repair, valid A&P License, valid Driver License, willingness to work rotation shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays, ability to obtain a valid passport for travel to Canada, High School Diploma, and Vocational/Tech School Credential. Preferred qualifications include 3+ years flight-line experience under FAA/EASA/TCCA regulations. Physical requirements include adequate vision, hearing, speaking ability, equipment operation skills, ability to carry, lift, push/pull up to 40lbs, sit for extended periods, squat/kneel occasionally, work in confined spaces, at heights, stand for extended periods, travel domestically and overseas, and walk on uneven surfaces.
