Job Title: Director of Project Finance

Location: Stamford, Connecticut (Hybrid – 3 days/week in office)

Position Summary:

My client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Project Finance to lead all financing efforts across our growing portfolio of Community Solar projects. This individual will manage the structuring, negotiation, and execution of project-level debt, tax equity, and other financing instruments, while working cross-functionally with development, legal, engineering, and executive leadership. The Director will play a key role in investor relations and capital strategy as we continue to scale nationally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the full lifecycle of project finance transactions including debt, tax equity, and construction/term financing.
• Structure, negotiate, and close complex financial transactions in coordination with internal stakeholders and external financing partners.
• Develop and maintain detailed financial models to assess project economics and capital efficiency.
• Cultivate and manage relationships with banks, tax equity investors, and other financial institutions.
• Support due diligence efforts across project portfolios, ensuring alignment with lender and investor requirements.
• Collaborate with development, legal, engineering, and asset management teams to ensure project readiness for financing.
• Monitor capital markets and industry trends to inform capital strategy and optimize financing structures.
• Provide strategic input to senior leadership on corporate finance initiatives, capital deployment, and risk mitigation.

Qualifications:

• 7–10+ years of experience in project finance within the renewable energy sector, ideally in distributed solar or community solar.
• Proven track record of successfully closing tax equity and debt transactions (including construction, bridge, and term debt).
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills; proficiency in Excel-based modeling is required.
• Deep understanding of tax equity structures (partnership flips, sale-leasebacks, etc.).
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or other relevant graduate degree preferred.
