Job Description

Guidacent is seeking an experienced Engineering DevOps / Continuous Improvement Lead to support one of our enterprise clients in optimizing software engineering operations and release processes. The successful candidate will help drive the adoption of DevOps best practices, identify and implement process improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable engineering solutions.

This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with a passion for automation, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and improve current DevOps processes, tools, and workflows.
  • Support automation of software delivery pipelines, including build, test, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to identify and remove delivery bottlenecks.
  • Implement CI/CD best practices and enable infrastructure as code (IaC) across teams.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to measure operational and engineering KPIs.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement through coaching, documentation, and training.
  • Investigate and resolve complex system integration and deployment issues.
  • Support cloud-native and on-premise environments, depending on client infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps engineering, systems automation, or CI/CD enablement.
  • Strong expertise in DevOps toolchains (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
  • Proficient in at least one programming or scripting language (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with Agile and/or Scrum methodologies.
  • Prior consulting experience or demonstrated success in cross-functional team environments preferred.

  • This is a client-facing role requiring professionalism, adaptability, and excellent communication skills.
  • Local candidates in the Seattle area are preferred.
  • Some on-site presence (approximately 3 days/week) is required.
